Pulmonologist Mark Millard, MD, supports lung health even further with a generous gift to the Martha Foster Lung Care Center.
For more than three decades, Mark Millard, MD, pulmonologist and medical director of the Baylor Scott & White Martha Foster Lung Care Center, has dedicated his life to serving patients, guiding them through their most vulnerable moments and striving to improve their quality of life.
Through a generous bequest, Dr. Millard’s commitment to patients will extend beyond his care as their physician and will grow an endowment to provide ongoing support for programs at the Martha Foster Lung Care Center. Throughout his tenure, the Center’s success has been built on a foundation of teaching, clinical research and patient care. By enhancing its resources, Dr. Millard seeks to guarantee that the Center remains at the forefront of medical advancements, driven by a highly educated and skilled staff.
“Dr. Millard’s act of giving back reflects the intrinsic values that define the medical profession: compassion, empathy and a commitment to the well-being of others,” said Ben Renberg, president of Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation. “Through his generosity, he ensures that future patients will continue to receive the highest standard of care, and he creates a ripple effect that impacts countless individuals who will benefit from the advancements and expertise fostered by his generous gift.”
For Dr. Millard, giving back is not just a gesture of gratitude; it is a way to honor the institution that has shaped him both personally and professionally. “I have three children, and in my estate planning, Baylor Scott & White becomes my fourth child,” shared Dr. Millard. “I couldn’t have written a job description better than what I’ve been allowed to do. Why wouldn’t I want to give back to the very institution that allowed me to have the most wonderful career I could ever imagine?”
