For Kenneth Aboussie, Texas has always been home. Raised in Wichita Falls, he grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work, strong values and the power of community. His journey took him to Texas Christian University for his undergraduate degree and later to the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned his MBA. In 2007, he co-founded Stonelake Capital Partners, a real estate private equity firm that has since grown into a leading investor and developer across the Sunbelt.
Beyond his professional success, Kenneth’s greatest pride is his family and faith. He met his wife, Kamela, in Dallas in 2012, and the two married in 2014. Together, they are raising three children—all born at Baylor Scott & White. Faith plays a guiding role in their lives. As active members of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, the Aboussies are committed to giving back, particularly through Mercy Street, a mentorship and sports program for inner-city youth in Dallas. Kenneth shares more about his career, his passion for BSW’s mission and the joys of life with a growing family.
How has Stonelake evolved since its founding, and what led to the decision to expand from Austin to Dallas and Houston?
While Stonelake has expanded to invest in 12 Sunbelt markets across Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, Tampa, Orlando, South Florida, Atlanta, Nashville, Phoenix and Charlotte, we have chosen to locate the majority of our people and talent in either Austin or Dallas (both markets in which BSW serves). Texas is consistently one of the fastest-growing states each year and is centrally located. We’ve realized we can cover all of our markets from Austin or Dallas and attract top-tier talent here as well. Other major corporations are discovering this as well. Texas plays an increasingly important role in our national economy, and BSW’s importance will continue to increase as it serves two key regions in our state.
Tell readers about your family, interests and hobbies.

With three kids under the age of 10 at home, it’s hard to have a lot of hobbies outside of work and family. The good news is I’m just as interested—and sometimes more interested—in my kids’ activities as they are. If I’m not coaching football or lacrosse for my boys then I’m riding bikes with my daughter or taking my wife on a date. I’m also involved at Highland Park Presbyterian Church and the University of Texas at Austin.
Why are you passionate about the Baylor Scott & White Mission?
I was born and raised in a small town where quality healthcare was limited, and many people traveled to Dallas for any significant healthcare need. BSW is not only a flagship hospital for Dallas, it’s a preeminent healthcare provider for the state of Texas. BSW has a reach far beyond just Dallas and is important to the vibrancy and health of Texas. BSW is a blessing to the millions of people it serves each year.
You’ve given to BSW’s Faith in Action Initiatives. Why do you feel a connection to this cause in particular?
I believe God calls on all of us to work in the service of others. BSW is a faith-based hospital system that embodies Christian service to our community. My wife and I have chosen to support BSW because its work is an example of faith in action.
