Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie

Your donation can help expand and modernize Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie, ensuring patients receive high-quality care close to home.

A growing need in a growing community

The population of Ellis County has skyrocketed and is forecast to double by the year 2050 – outpacing state and national averages. Ellis County has fewer hospital beds per capita than nearby counties, which is straining the area’s healthcare system. Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie is quickly outgrowing its current space and is operating at a 99% occupancy rate.

Expanding facilities and programs to enhance care

Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie has cared for Ellis County and surrounding communities, including Midlothian and Red Oak, for more than 100 years. To address capacity challenges and meet the needs of this growing community, Baylor Scott & White is expanding and modernizing facilities in Waxahachie by adding more than 150,000 square feet to the hospital.

Baylor Scott & White is also investing in areas that directly impact patient care and sustain the hospital’s clinical excellence, such as patient navigation, nursing education and graduate medical education programs.

Your gift: Accelerating excellence in Waxahachie

Your donation can support the capital expansion project and patient-centered programs at Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie. Philanthropy will accelerate these priorities, which are an investment in the future of healthcare in Ellis County.

The hospital has broken ground on a six-story bed tower to add more than 90 new patient beds, expanding capacity in high-volume areas such as the Emergency Department, Women and Children’s, ICU, Medical/Surgical patient rooms and a parking garage with more than 500 spaces for patients, families, visitors and team members.

To further support the expansion, Baylor Scott & White is also investing in programs that directly impact the patient experience.

Support from generous donors to the Area of Greatest Need advances efforts to provide compassionate and comprehensive care through a variety of patient-centered programs and education initiatives, including:

  • Nursing education
  • Chaplaincy
  • The new Family Medicine Residency Program
  • And more
