Pulmonary Critical Care Fellowship
Help train the next generation of pulmonary and critical care specialists at Baylor University Medical Center. Together, we can save lives and pioneer advancements in lung disease treatment.
A growing need for specialists
Texas is projected to face a critical physician shortage of 10,000 by 2030, with pulmonary and critical care specialists in particularly high demand. These physicians play a crucial role in managing respiratory illnesses, treating lung diseases and delivering life-saving interventions to critically ill patients.
Addressing the need through education
Baylor University Medical Center (BUMC) is combating the growing physician shortage by training highly skilled pulmonary and critical care specialists through our fellowship program. As a Level I trauma center and a high-volume transplant center in North Texas, BUMC provides the highest levels of life support for pulmonary and critical care patients, offering a dynamic learning environment for physicians-in-training.
Established in 2015, the pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship equips future physicians with the clinical expertise and medical skills needed to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care.
Train tomorrow’s pulmonary and critical care specialists—one fellow at a time
Philanthropy advances our capacity to train the next generation of pulmonary and critical care specialists. With $150,000 covering one year of the three-year program, a gift at any level will provide crucial training, professional development and educational opportunities to equip fellows with advanced skills and knowledge. Your support can help us sustain or expand our fellowship program, attract top-tier talent and pioneer innovative research, transforming the future of pulmonary and critical care.
Endow a fellowship that trains specialists for generations
To meet growing demand, we must grow our fellowship program. By creating an endowed fellowship, you can provide lasting, life-changing impact.
A $3.5 million commitment would fully fund a new pulmonary fellowship position in perpetuity — ensuring a continuous pipeline of highly trained physicians ready to care for our communities, now and in the future. This legacy gift would not only transform the lives of fellows, but also the thousands of patients they’ll serve throughout their careers.
